Grace Burleson Mapp "Mema" passed away peacefully Friday evening, June 7, 2002.
Devout Christian, mother, grandmother and teacher, she is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas M. and Debra C. Mapp of Powhatan, and Stephen W. and Karen C. Mapp of Richmond; three grandsons, Jeffrey S., Kevin S. and Joseph K. Mapp; a step granddaughter, Jamie G. Ansbro and her children, Dylan and Brenna.
Mrs. Mapp retired in 1979 as a supervisor from C&P Telephone Co. after 47 years of service. She loved teaching Sunday school, music, dancing, reading, playing bridge, but most of all, she loved God, her family and church family at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church. Grace will forever live in our hearts. We were fortunate to have been blessed by the generosity of her love and devotion. She truly defined the meaning of her name.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church with a reception following in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winfree Memorial Baptist Church for the ministries of music and education.
(She was the widow of Judson Mapp.)
