Born in Nimbus California and moved to Folsom with his family when he was in the fourth grade. Graduated from Folsom High School, Sierra Junior College and Humboldt State College in Eureka, CA. In the U.S. Army during World War II. Worked for 38 years for the CA State Dept of Fish and Game, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. In retirement he was active in Friends of the Folsom Parkway. He advocated for the preservation of native oaks, wetlands and riparian habitat in Folsom.

Loving husband of Marilyn Robertson Bailey for 57 years, father of seven children; Linda, Sue, John, Bruce, Brian, Barbara, Carol.

Grandfather of Joe Borez/Sara, Garrett and Kevin Borez, Sarah Mabberley/Richard, Jake and Jocelyn Cady, Dustin Bailey, Angela, Lauren and Helena Hines, Katherine Bailey and James and Matt Luksich. Great grandchildren William and Elizabeth Borez, Kyle Dunn, Shane and Richie Mabberley. Bill leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Graveside services to be held Friday, September 25 at 11 a.m., Lakeside Memorial Lawn, 1201 Forrest St., Folsom, CA 95630. Reception to follow at VFW Hall on Forrest St.
Arrangements by Miller Funeral Home Folsom.
