Jeanette H. (Casper) Carriveau, 89, Oconto Falls, loving wife and mother, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday morning, May 15, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 8, 1922, in Lena, to Michael and Katherine (Burg) Casper. After graduating from high school, she was employed in Lena and Milwaukee. The former St. Charles Catholic Church in Lena was the setting for the exchange of marriage vows with her husband, Ray, on July 31, 1948.

Ray and Jeanette lived on the family dairy farm in Oconto Falls and in 1963, began The Vacation Farm, offering boys and girls throughout the United States an opportunity to enjoy rural life, horsemanship and other camping activities. Many Girls Scouts received their certification in horsemanship at The Vacation Farm and in the 1970's, outdoor education classes were offered in the spring and fall. Mrs. C., as Jeanette was called by the many campers, was responsible for meals, general housekeeping and being a "2nd Mom" to the younger children. She touched the lives of many children, parents, teachers and counselors during the years of operating their business.

Jeanette was a member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and a member of the Sanctuary Singers Choir at St. Anthony Catholic Church. She enjoyed singing, dancing, reading and traveling. She answered the calling of being a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother in her life.

Survivors are her two children, Joseph (Mira Fe) Carriveau, Oshkosh; Kathy Allen, Oconto Falls; two grandchildren, Jim (Julie) Carriveau and Tom (Ashley) Carriveau; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Oliver; two sisters, Bernice Kugel and Marcella Meyers; many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband of 54 years, Raymond, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Gerald Casper; seven sisters, Viola, Helen and infant, Velora Casper, Betty Duester, Verna Janik, Eleanor Koebach and Luella Kettner; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Casper, Betty Sherman, Irma Blaser, Dorothy Courtion and Violet Larson; brothers-in-law, Roman Duester, Frank Janik, Joe Casper, Joe Koebach, John Kettner and George Carriveau; and one grandson, Danny Carriveau.

Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls, until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Joel Sember officiating. Cremation will follow with burial of the urn in the church cemetery.
