Ruby was a successful business woman. Ruby first married Willis R. Braswell. Later, she became the second wife of Atlanta, Georgia, attorney and former Georgia governor Ellis Gibbs Arnall.
ARNALL, Ruby Ruby Hamilton Arnall, widow of former Governor Ellis Gibbs Arnall, died on April 24, 2015 at age 96.
Mrs. Arnall, before her marriage to Gov. Arnall in 1981, was a highly successful salesperson for Capital Cadillac. Beginning her career in 1953, she was a pioneer for women in automotive sales. Mrs. Arnall was born in Paducah, KY and moved to Atlanta in 1953. She was a member of Capital City Club, Piedmont Driving Club, and Druid Hills United Methodist Church.
In addition to Governor Arnall, she was preceded in death by her parents, James Roy Hamilton and Lura Brooks Hamilton and a son, Ronald Braswell. Survivors include her son, Donald R. Braswell (Linda), daughter, Karen K. Campbell (Jim), and grandsons, James Hamilton Campbell (Jamie) and Charles Brooks Campbell.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating. Following a private time of family visitation, family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment services will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery next to Governor Arnall.
