On May 26, 1870, Charles L. Daubert, 69, pastor of St. Paul German Evangelical Church, married WHV and Sarah Caroline "Carrie" Fink (died 10/27/1917 apoplexy, see Lou. Times 10/30/1917, p2), witnesses Carl "Charles" Diehl and Katherina "Catherine" Diehl, her maternal relatives; her parents were Heinrich "Henry" Fink (born Bavaria ca. 1825, died ca. 8/1868), a grocer, Jefferson, south side, between Preston & Jackson; Susannah "Susan" Diehl (born Bavaria 7/1831 – after 1900, before 1911); the Diehl family immigrated ca. 1850-51, although Susan, who had 5 children, 4 living in 1900, reported 1856 – earlier date based on her 1852 marriage (1900 census, ED 41, Sheet 1B). Susan Fink declared bankruptcy in 1880 and it was approved by the court on September 14. Properties sold on 9/16/1880 included a house and lot (42' x 165') on the south side of Madison between Jackson & Hancock and her store and home on the south side of Jefferson between Preston and Jackson (lot 26 ½' x 105), both sold to J. Phillip Kreischer – same person who purchased the burial plot in Eastern with Henry Fink (see above).

After Wilhelm's death, Carrie married Peter Johansen (Johnson), Jr. 1/7/1897 (aka Johnsen/Johnson), by Rev. Otto C. Miner, witnesses Joseph & Susanna Schmitt; PJ b. Switzerland c. 1855 – 5/3/1930, age 74; Peter & Carrie buried Evergreen Cem., Sec. 2, Lot 555, Graves 1-2, only CFVJ's has stone, she lived 1005 Goss Ave. at death from apoplexy; WHV Sr's in Eastern Burials from 6/1893 – 2/1901, Bk 98, p 61.

Her parents, Henry & Susan Fink were married by Rev. F. Jundt on 10/6/1852 at St. John Evangelical Church in Louisville. Witnesses were Louisa and Friederich Fink (his parents), sworn by Fred W. Kellar; church still active at Clay & Market Sts; original building stands east side of Hancock between Market & Jefferson. Henry made his will on 7/29/1868, filed on 8/10/1868, leaving his possessions to wife Susannah; witnesses J.C. Fink, Jacob Wetstein and Fred Friske (JC WB 6, p 628).
