Lillie Mae Gormes, 73, of Charlottesville, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at her home.

She was born March 2, 1938, in Albemarle County, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Thomas Spears.

Mrs. Gormes retired from Charlottesville Public Schools, in charge of food service at Greenbrier Elementary School.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert L. Gormes; one daughter, Debbie Carver and her husband, Barry; one son, Lee Gormes and his wife, Melissa; two brothers, Jimmy G. Spears and his wife, Barbara, and Earl Spears and his wife, Charlotte; and five grandchildren, Olivia Carver, Jillian Carver, Jonathan Molnar, Robbie Armstrong and Sara Armstrong.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the Teague Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy., Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
