Patricia G. Wood Taylor, SCOTIA- Patricia G. Wood Taylor, 60, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Amsterdam NY, in 1950, she was the daughter of the late Harold G. Wood and Jean Wilkie Wood. Patty graduated from Burnt-Hills Ballston Lake High Shcool in 1968. She spent 20 years as a military wife, traveling the world with her 4 kids and husband. She then returned home and spent the last 20 years in Scotia where she worked at Sunnyview Hospital. Patricia was the honored and loving wife of Edwin I. Taylor, Jr. for 42 years. She was the cherished mother of Rebecca J. Purcell (Kevin), Cameron Ike Taylor, Carrie A. Lynn, Elissa M. Wilton (David) beloved grandmother of Kyra, Hunter, Taylor, Walker and Brandon Lynn, kind sister of Harold "Chip" G. Wood Jr.(Daria), Daniel R. Wood (Jane), Walter "Buzz" G. Wood. Patty belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a teacher of many and touched the lives of countless people through her loving and giving spirit. She was an artist and loved to make gifts for people. She was always giving a piece of herself through her knitting, sculpy, painting, cross stitching or cooking. Her love was felt by everyone who was lucky enough to cross her path. Funeral services will be held at LDS Chapel, 52 Blue Barnes Rd. in Rexford on Thursday, May 19 at 10:00 am with calling hours on Wednesday,at the LDS Chapel May 18 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm. Patricia will be laid to rest by Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home at Chucktinunda Cemetery following the funeral services. Those wishing to remember Patty in a special way may send a remembrance to Beukendall Fire Department, 501 Sacandaga Rd., Scotia or to the Perpetual Education Fund, LDS church in care of Bishop M.
