Virginia Greer McMichael, 92, of Monticello, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, in Juliette, Georgia. Virginia McMichael was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Her parents were the late Frobel Grubbs Greer, Sr. and Mattie Lawrence Greer. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Virginia worked for a number of years at Jasper Memorial Hospital and for several years at the Dairy Queen. Husband, Aubie Glenn McMichael preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Howard Greer, Betty Greer, Harold F. Greer, Minnie Holloway, Nell Key, Idalu McMichael, and Frobel Grubbs "F.G." Greer Jr., and great granddaughter, Jane Gore.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Karen McMichael of Juliette, and Joe and Jeanette McMichael of Monticello; grandchildren and spouses, Brett and Donna McMichael, Jason McMichael, Marie and Russell Miller, and Heather and Justin Lybarger; great-grandchildren, Holly Gore, Justin Gore, Jacob Bailey McMichael, Joey Lybarger, and Baby Miller, who is due soon; great, great-grandchildren, Victor Gore, Landon Gore, Jackson Gore, and Brooks Gore; brother and sisters-in-law, Bobby and Belle Greer and Lettye Greer, all of Monticello; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also "Grandma" to a host of other children.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment was held in West View Cemetery. Rev. Roger Mays, Rev. Stanley Harrell, and Rev. Clyde Carter officiated.

Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Holloway, James McMichael, Bob Tuggle, Billy Ozburn, Tony Wild, and Jesse Smith.
