Had one daughter Flora Isadore Foster b. 6 May 1863 Rosetta, Henderson Co.,IL. m. John Henry Macklin 23 Dec. 1880 Rozetta, Henderson Co.,IL., son of Albert Macklin and Elizabeth Clark Bennum of Sussex Co.,Delaware and Henderson-Mercer Co's, IL.
Edwin Ruthvan Foster joined Civil War 20 Oct. 1862 Capt. Charles T. Scammons, Co.L. 9th Cavalry IL, at Hyde Park, IL.
Received wound in the hand by accidental discharge of his carbine while cleaning his arms. Rendering amputation of the hand on 2 Jan. 1863. He was discharged 12 Jul,1863, Helena, Arkansas. He came home to Henderson Co., IL. and he and Sarah Maley Foster later divorced.
2/w Mrs. Grata Callista (Phillips) Spires-Speris 6 Nov 1883 Logan, Harrison Co., Iowa d/o Elihu P. Phillips and Grata C. Bennett. Had daughter Maria Foster born after 1883 Harrison Co., Iowa. I have not found information on Maria Foster. Maria Foster name mentioned by last wife Sarah McFadden Mickle Foster in Civil War Pension Papers when she petitioned for his Civil War pension.

Gertrude D. listed living with him on 1895 Iowa State Census Taylor Township, Harrison Co., Iowa., is Grata Foster with line through her name. "D" stood for died.
He left after 1895-1897 for Ionia, Ionia Co., MI.

3/w Mrs.Sarah L. (McFadden) Mickel m. 12 Apr. 1897 Ionia, MI. widow of Henry or Jacob Henry Mickel-Mickle of Ionia, MI., s/o Phillip Mickle and Hulda Catherine Castle of Crawford Co., PA.
No children by this marriage. She was daughter of Thomas McFadden and Sarah Patch McFadden of Pennsylvania.
Occupation in private sector he was a one handed house painter.

Edwin R. Foster oldest child of my great-grandfather William Foster and 1st wife Mandana Townsend. William Foster married 2/w Elizabeth Ellen Lathrop my great grandmother and Edwin R. Foster's step-mother.
Elizabeth Ellen Lathrop, Foster, Watts, Macklin was a 1st cousin of Sarah Elizabeth (Maley) Foster, McCoy, Edwards; Edwin R. Foster's first wife Sarah Elizabeth Maley.

Elizabeth Ellen Lathrop, Foster, Watts, Macklin also buried in Highland Park Cemetery near daughter Lucy J. Fosterp-Shively-Stearnes.
