Mrs. Dora Biermanm Vath Departs This Life
Well Known Resident of This City Died at the Home of Mrs. Perrin, Her Daughter, Last Saturday
The death of Mrs. Dora Vath occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. E. Perrin after an illness extending over a period of two years, last Saturday morning at 6:30 o'clock. Her death was caused by a tumor.
The maiden name of the deceased was Dora Trotz and she was born in Luneburg, Germany, August 1, 1842. She came alone to this country when a girl 13 years old, and settled in Dubuque, Iowa. She was married in that place in 1858 to Henry Bierman, and the couple came to this county, settling on a farm in Wilton. Her husband was killed in an accident in that place on December 22, 1880.
She was married to Frederick Vath in 1885, and the couple came to this city to reside. HE died in March 1906, and since his death, Mrs. Vath has made her home for the most part with her daughter, Mrs. D. E. Perrin in this city.
She is survived by the following children: Charles Bierman of Russell, Minn., William Bierman of Detroit, Minn., Mrs. Mary Riechel, Mrs. Otto Herbst, and Mrs. D. E. Perrin of this city.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Methodist church in this city, Rev. Kiel of Mankato preaching the sermon in German and Rev. J. R. Hitchcock, the local pastor and W. E. Griffith pastor of the Congregational church delivering sermons in the English language. Interment was made in the Wilton cemetery.
