Death on Sunday morning at 9.30 o'clock relieved the sufferings of Mrs. Mary A., wife of Warren E. Kelchner, of 1138 Oak street. Mrs. Kelchner was aged 30 years, 5 months and 26 days. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. J. Brown. The husband, one son, Paul, and a sister, Mrs. Raymond Laudenslager, this city, and three brothers, Joseph, Egypt; Raymond, Ballietsville; and Fred, Eagle Point, also survive. The funeral will be held privately from her late home, No. 1138 Oak street, Thursday at 1.30 p.m. Burial at Egypt.
She was born as Mary E. Keefer but was adopted and raised by Alvin and Mary Brown of Egypt, Lehigh County PA. This fact is found in two places -- the 1900 census of Whitehall Township, Lehigh County PA, where she is listed as Mary E. Keefer, the adopted daughter of the Browns and also on her son Paul Kelchner's Feb 1910 PA birth certificate.
