Hervey Bagot, who assumed the name of de Stafford upon becoming Baron. In 1166 he held 3 knights' fees of Robert de Stafford.In 1193-94, he offered 200 marks to have the barony of Robert de Stafford, which was the inheritance of his wife, Millicent de Stafford (Robert's sister). In 1194, with the consent of his wife and his son Hervey de Stafford, he granted Drayton to the canons of St. Thomas the Martyr of Stafford in return for 35 silver marks towards the sum due to the King. He died before 25 August 1214, leaving his wife surviving. Milicent was dead in January 1224/5, and was buried with her husband at Stone.
