James Burt Jones, 80, of Orange, died on Monday, May 16, 2011, at his residence.

He was born on March 20, 2931[sic], in Scottsville, the son of the late John and Maude Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by three daughters, Mary Ayers and her husband, William, and Elaine Jones, all of Dillwyn, and Joyce Kinney and her husband, Eugene, of Charlottesville; two sons, James Jones and his wife, Diane, of Charlottesville and Michael Jones of Richmond; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, long-time companion and best friend, Mary; and a host of cousins and other friends.

Funeral services will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at the Emanuel Baptist Church in Orange. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Orange. The Reverend Tommie Bailey will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is in charge of arrangements.
