STOUGHTON -- Roy P. Bechtold, age 82, of Stoughton, passed away Friday, September 16, 1994 at Skaalen Sunset Home in Stoughton. Roy was born on November 26, 1911 in Wabaso, Minnesota. He lived for many years in Illinois, moving from Dixon, Illinois to Stoughton in 1963. Roy married the former Helen R. Faber on November 17, 1934. She preceded him in death on April 15, 1981. He worked as a baker for Fosdal Bakery and the University of Wisconsin, retiring in 1976. Roy was an avid musician, known as "Roy B". He played sax at Badger Bashes and other local night clubs. He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Donovan of Rockford, Illinois, and Janet (Gary) Pellmann of Stoughton; a son, Ronald (Nora) Bechtold of Middleton; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Clay Bechtold of Bemidji, Minnesota; and a special friend, Ruth Edington, of Madison. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be on Monday, September 19, 1994, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home in Stoughton. Reverend James Koza will officiate. Interment will be at Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, September 18 1994, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
