Adlai Stevenson Dorrell, a retired mechanic at Gridley Farm Supply Company, died on August 5, 1980, at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, Illinois.

He was born on November 14, 1893, in Heyworth, Illinois, a son of Edward Elijah & Louie Belle (Rutledge) Dorrell.

He married Edna Marie Kagel on July 1, 1932 in Clinton, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Clifford Dorrel of Gridley, Illinois; Lynn Dorrell of Bloomington, Illinois; Larry Dorrell of Colfax, Illinois; and Merlin Dorrell of El Dorado, Kansas; two daughters, Lana Dorrell and Alice Meads both of Bloomington, Illinois; two sisters, Iliff Williams of Black Canyon City, Arizona; and Mattie Brayton in California; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, two brothers, and five sisters.

He was a veteran of World War I.
