Wendell Bastin, 70, passed away at the Casey County Hospital on May 1, 2011. He was born on October 2, 1940, in Walltown, Kentucky. He was the son of Oliver and Ruby Ware Bastin.

Wendell was a retired Flavor Rich milkman, a member of the Grove Ridge Baptist Church, Casey Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of Middleburg Masonic Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his spouse, Nancy Lee Bastin; a daughter, Pamela Kay and Jim Shipp of Liberty; a son Mark Wendell and Laura Bastin of Liberty; two grandchildren, Angel Starr Stephens and Garry Lee Buis; great-grandchildren, Alexis Cierra and Abigail Shyanne Hood, and Rylan Lee Buis; a sister, Carole Jean Sims, of Kings Mountain; and a brother, Harold Wayne Bastin, of Kings Mountain.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law Gary Lee Buis.

Funeral Services officiated by Reverend Wayne Stephens, Reverend Kevin Pittman and Reverend Jimmy Brown, will be at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday May 4, 2011, at the Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
