Mr. Ballenger, a retired chief of the Sulphur Volunteer Fire Department, died Tuesday in a Sulphur nursing home.
He was born, Feb. 3,1914, in Sulphur to James E. and Lillian Medlock Ballenger.
Mr. Ballenger was also a retired service station operator, and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors are one son, David, Saudi Arabia; one brother, Jack , Sulphur, and three grandchildren.
Bearers will be Forrest McMurtry, Frank Husband, Perry Frantz, Allen Hill, Elmer Carr, and Ben Williams.
Dunn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. T.B. Ritzinger, Calvary Baptist Church, will conduct the services.
