The death of Henry Julius Torgerson, age 71, of Shooks, occurred early Monday, October 8 [1979] at the Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls.

Torgerson was born September 6, 1908 at Shotley to Hans and Hilda Torgerson. He married Burnette Heibel on January 13, 1934 in Blackduck. They resided in Kelliher where he was a rural mail carrier.

They moved to International Falls in August 1941 where he was employed by Mando, completing their five year apprenticeship program as turbine operator in 1957. He retired from that company in September 1973. They moved to Shooks shortly after retirement.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Roy (Carol) Miller, Mrs. Clair (Norma) Hall, Mrs. Henry (Audrey) Urban, Mrs. Hilda Ashbrook and Mrs. Phil (Wendy) Hopfner all of the Falls; a son Henry James of Montreal; two brothers, Martin of Great Falls, Mont., and Herman of Chinook, Mont.; four sisters, Mrs. Ted (Edith) Vik of Great Falls, Mrs. John (Aaste) Lindmark of Leonard, Margaret Pederson of Gonvick and Mrs. Wilbur (Gerda) Peterson of Kelliher; also nine grandsons and eight granddaughters.
