On October 28, 1926, Wilma married Earl Austin. They crossed the Missouri river on a ferry to Onawa, Iowa, to be married in the Methodist parsonage. Her parents were married there in 1895 and her twin sisters were also married there.
Wilma was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Oakland. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
Wilma and Earl spent many happy times square dancing and round dancing. She loved to make her own square dancing dresses. Wilma also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl (1990); five sisters, Ester Larson, Blanche Davidson, Helen Andersen, Pearley Gallup, Evelyn Rennerfeldt and two brothers, Donald and Clifford Gallup.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Dean Bay of York, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Gregory Bay of Omaha, Nebraska, and Melissa (Douglas) Heiden of York; three great grandchildren, Kyle Heiden, Addison and Owen Barrow.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, May 21, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Oakland.
VISITATION: Visitation Saturday will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
BURIAL: Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, Nebraska
