The Rev. Dr. Wm. Browning served as a Confederate Chaplin in Marcus Wright's Brigade during the Civil War. He had four children. The name of his first wife is unknown. He had two daughters: Anne E. and Laura; and a son James Erwin who died young. After the loss of his first wife, Wm. remarried to Mary Ann Dockery Gantt. Mary Ann's first husband Capt. N. J. Gantt died in late 1865. Wm's dau. Laura would grow up to marry a nephew of Mary Ann's. Wm's dau. Annie E. married Oliver Yelton and was living in Laramie, WY at the time of her death in 1915. . Laura lived out her life in Magnolia AR. Walter moved to Indianapolis.
