Karin E. Bussian, age 22, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in an auto accident.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1988, in Madison, the daughter of William and Linda (Holsten) Bussian. Karin graduated from DeForest High School in 2007. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse where she was on the equestrian team. Karin came back home to receive her degree in Business at MATC. She was a member of the Fire Department in Dalton for 3 years. Karin worked at Menards in Beaver Dam. She also worked part time as a photographer at KEB Photography, the business that she started. Karin met her fiancé, Sam more than seven years ago at the Columbia County Fair through 4-H. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and hunting. Karin loved all kinds of animals and was looking forward to her first dog. She loved kids and acted as a great role model. Karin had a generous nature and kind heart and will be greatly missed by all those that knew her.

Karin is survived by her parents, William and Linda Bussian of DeForest; brothers, Michael Bussian of DeForest, Nicholas (Jaclyn) Bussian of Fitchburg and Timothy (Carolyn Levitt) of Salt Lake City, Utah; godson/nephew, Brayden Bussian; fiancé, Samuel Marwitz of Dalton; his parents, Ann and Duwane Marwitz of Dalton; and their children, Justin and Moriah. She is further survived by many uncles and aunts; cousins; extended family, including Samuel's grandparents, Theresa Knight and Bev and Fred Marwitz; other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rodney and Genevieve Bussian and Albert and Ruth Holsten and Samuel's grandfather, Alan Knight.

A funeral service will be held at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 120 Faith Drive, Columbus on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Moberg and Father John Price concelebrating. Burial to immediately follow at Spring Prairie Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. and then again at church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
