Death claimed another one of Clarinda's early settlers yesterday in the person of the wife of Henry D. Farrens, living in northeast Clarinda. Her maiden name was McAlpin and she was first married to Miles Showen but has been the wife of Mr. Farrens since 1858. She had two children by her first husband, Edward D. and Miles A. and by her second marriage, three sons, Wilbert T., Albert H. and Russell D. Mrs. Farrens was very highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was a faithful, loving wife and mother and her memory will be long cherished by those who were so near and dear to her during her long and eventful life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev.
