Edward (went by Ed) Franklin Rominger was the seventh of nine known children of Simon Franklin Rominger (1826-1877) and his first wife Verona Perlina Reed (1831-1867), who married 28 Dec 1848 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. After Verona died Simon remarried to Mary Bolin (1824-1896) on 17 Nov 1867 at Shelby County, Indiana. Simon and Mary had no children together, but she raised Simon's children from his first marriage.

Ed first married to Annis L. Bland (1863-1904) on 29 Nov 1887 at Effingham County, Illinois. Ed and Annis were the parents of three known children, namely:

1. Annis L. Bland Rominger (1863-1904)
2. Mary J Downey Rominger (1868-1945)
3. Harry Rominger (1899-a1910)

After Annis died, Ed remarried to the widow Mary J. Downey Finck (1868-1945) on 01 Sep 1904 at Coles County, Illinois but had no additional children.

In 1930 Ed (a grocery merchant) and Mary ere living alone at Mattoon, Coles County, Illinois.
