MATTOON — Earl E. Weaver age 92, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 8:58 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. The funeral service in his honor will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, with Reverend Robert Clark and Dr. Mark Prevo officiating. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Mr. Weaver was born April 5, 1918, in Mattoon, IL, the son of Earl S. and Bertha Weaver. He married Christine Morgan on May 15, 1947, in Mattoon, IL. He is survived by his loving wife Christine Weaver of Mattoon, IL; Three Children, Kenny Weaver and wife Donna of St. Joseph, IL; Jeanette Brown of Mattoon, IL; Evelyn Weber and husband Paul Sr. of Mattoon, IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brock, Travis, Paul Jr., Lorena, Linda, Cheri, Tina, Richie, Clint, Susan and Randy. He is survived by 16 great grandchildren and one brother Kenneth Weaver of Harlington, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Florence Hill and Pat Edwardson. Mr. Weaver worked as a postal clerk for the United States postal service. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Mattoon, IL, where he served as a deacon for many years. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Earl enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and played in the Class D baseball league as a pitcher. Earl was a very loving husband, father and grandfather and cherished time spent with his family.
