Ira E. Greene, 88, 4 Hawthrone Rd., died this morning at Binghamton General Hospital after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. May (Ruston) Greene; a son, Dr. Richard W. Greene; Syracuse; three grandchildren, Judith, Roderic, Richard Greene, all of Syracuse; also several nieces and nephews. He was the former owner and president of the Southern Tier Electric Supply. He was a member of the Binghamton Club, 32d Mason, and a member of Katurah Temple. He was formerly a member of the Binghamton Kiwanis and at one time served on the Board of Managers of Fairview Home. Funeral arrangements are by Prentice-Olsen Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Main St., where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. George L. Tappan, Minister of Pastoral Visitation of First Presbyterian Church, Binghamton, will officiate. Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery, LaFayette. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
