Bobby Clay Aaron, 75, formerly of 4020 Westover Drive, Lot 42, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Hock Family Pavilion, Durham, NC, where he had been a resident for the past two months. He had been in declining health ten years. Born in the Mount Cross community of Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late George H. Aaron, Sr. and Addie Pearl Merricks Aaron.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Scarce Aaron of the residence. Also surviving are three sons, Tony C. Aaron, Ricky Aaron and Luther F. Aaron all of Danville; three sisters, Shirley Adkins of Farmville, VA, Jewel Saunders of Maryland and Angelean Merriman of Danville; two brothers, Rev. Donald Aaron and George H. Aaron, Jr. of Danville; Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Margie Hiatt, Virginia Lashus and Elizabeth George and three brothers, Jack Aaron, Charlie Aaron and Millard Aaron.

Mr. Aaron was employed as a supervisor with Dan River Mills for 42 years and was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the National Guard Battery A, 560 Field Artillery. He was a member of the Red Men, American Legion Post 325 and served as a deacon with North Danville Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. from North Danville Church of Christ with Minister Hershel Stone, Rev. Donald Aaron, Jr. and Rev. Joe Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens with military rites by American Legion Dan River Post 1097 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9: 00 p.m. and at other times they will be at the residence of his son, Luther Aaron, 37 Hunter Ridge, Danville, VA.
