Caudill who may have been away from home with his Confederate military unit. Sampson's wife Sarah and daughter Sarah Matilda cared for the soldier - Frank Trail. Frank had smallpox and he and the Malachi's wife Sarah died in May 1864. Both are buried in the Osborne cemetery."
