WESTERNPORT,MARYLAND -- Leona P. Worgan, 97, formerly of 214 Wood St., Westernport, and most recently of Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 25, 1907, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Louis H. and Delphia (Dayton) Biddle. Her husband in 1969, James D. Worgan; a brother, Louis E. Biddle; and five sisters, Leota Biddle, Louise Miller, Gladys Taylor, Elizabeth Amann, and Marguerite Armentrout, also preceded her in death. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Mrs. Worgan was a lifelong member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Westvaco Corp. as a paper sorter, with 20 years of service. She was a former member of the Westernport Senior Citizens.
A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves behind her devoted son, James W. Worgan Sr. and wife Carol of Westernport; three grandchildren, Jonathon Worgan of Westernport, Jennifer Oates and husband Jeff of Westernport, James W. Worgan Jr. and wife Beth of McCoole; and four great grandchildren, Alexander Oates, Matthew Worgan, Nathan Worgan, Benjamin Oates, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sally Bartling officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
