Robert McCracken, 83, died at his home in Fairview Twp., on Saturday, June 6th., due to complications from pneumonia. Mr McCracken was born in County Down, Ireland and came to the United States when he was 29 years old. He was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Wilson McCracken. He was married to Mary Osborne for 54 years. He was father to 10 children, six of whom survive. Robert John of Washington Twp., Samuel R. of Fairview Twp., Mrs Joshua Brown of Fairview Twp., Mrs. J.H. Cumberland and Miss Nancy at home. At the time of Roberts death he had two brothers still alive in the mother country. Mr. McCracken had been blind for 32 years previous to his death. Mr. McCracken was unique in having lived and died without a known enemy. When a mere boy he memorized the whole book of Psalms and many other scriptures which proved to be a great comfort to him in his declining years.
