HURT THREE WEEKS AGO
Injuries received in an automobile accident on Sunday afternoon, September 8, 1935, caused the death last night in the Uniontown Hospital of Miss Mary Kiger, aged 23 years, daughter of Mrs. Ida Kiger, of Smith Creek.
Miss Kiger was a passenger in an automobile driven by Mark Shultz and in which his mother, Mrs. Nora Shultz, Janet and William Shultz and Miss Edna Spragg were other passengers when the machine collided with another automobile driven by Earl Brindley, of 515 North Garbit street, Clarendon, Va.
The accident occurred on the National Highway near Haddentown, five miles west of Uniontown, towards Brownsville, in which all passengers were injured to the extent that they were removed to the Uniontown hospital. The others were discharged from that institution a short time following the accident, but Miss Kiger was forced to remain as she suffered a fractured pelvis in the mishap.
Death occurred at 8:45 o'clock and was due to the injury which had kept her confined to her bed.
The deceased was a daughter of the late Robert Kiger, who died three years ago, and Mrs. Ida Kiger, who survives. Miss Kiger was an active worker and was a member of the Spraggs Methodist Episcopal Church and of the Christian Endeavor Society of that church.
