All the years of his life were spent on the farm. He was converted at a revival meeting at the old M.E. Church at Edgerton. There are many who remember of this. He united with the church at that time and forever lived a faithful follower of the Master. He loved the church and was faithful in the little things of life which count for so much in the true follower of Jesus. He truly believed in all of the doctrines of the M.E. Church of which he was taught by his christian mother, his father having died when he was but nine years old.
No sacrifice was ever too great to make for his family and he was ever anxious that they too be true to the church. He had a kind and receptive heart and was quick to respond to those who he could in any way assist.
He fell asleep in Jesus at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon, aged 57 years, one month and five days.
Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery
(Excerpted from his obituary.)
