Mr. Elbert Lewis Berry, son of the late Rev. Harvey Berry and Lucinda Ann Rattliff Berry was born on 29 Aug 1915 in Green Co. and departed this life at 10:30 pm Wed. 22 Jul [1987] at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was 71 years, 10 months and 23 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Jean Chaudoin on 27 Nov 1935, who survives. To this union was born 3 sons and 1 daughter: Joseph C. Berry, Greensburg; Mrs. Pat James, Elkton, and Doyle Berry of Greensburg. Gary David Berry preceded his father in death on 12 Apr 1947. Mr. Berry is survived by 1 brother, Raymond Berry, Cave City, and 1 sister, Mrs. Emma Ward of Greensburg. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Melanie Berry, Louisville; Brandy Berry, Greensburg; Todd Whitlow, Adair Co. and Kim Fulkerson, Bellville, Ill. Bethany Berry preceded her grandfather in death. One great-grandchild survives, Bianca Yvetta Whitlow of Adair Co. A host of other relatives and friends also survive. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 10 am Sat. 25 Jul at the Brush Creek Baptist church, with burial in the Perkins Cem. Rev. Walter Lay and Rev. A.A. Durrett officiated. Pallbearers were Finis Berry, Billy Ward, Winfred Berry, Timmy Berry, James Walker and Jimmy Berry.
