Born in Glastonbury, she then lived in Gildersleeve, Connecticut, received a nursing degree from the Middlesex Hospital School of Nursing, joined the Army Nurse Corps during World War II, was stationed at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY, and was on a hospital ship in North Africa and Italy.
After the war ended, she married her husband of 45 years, Nunzio P. Rosso who died in 1993, and retired to raise her family. In Kensington,
