Garnetta Mattox Fryman, age 81, died Friday, May 20, 2011, at Robertson County Health Care Facility, in Mount Olivet, Kentucky. She was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on November 4, 1929, to the late Joseph Henry and Oma Fryman Mattox. She was a member of Lair United Methodist Church.

Her husband, John Marshall Fryman, preceded her in death. Survivors include: three daughters, Brenda Carol Fryman, Connie Sue Murphy (Gordon) Franklin and Penny Marie Fryman; a brother, Clarence Mattox; three sisters, Jean Porter, Linda Spencer and Annie Antrobus; five grandchildren, Susan Fay Murphy (Jim) Bryan, Joseph Daniel (Amy) Murphy, Rebecca Lynn Murphy, Bryan Allen (Amanda) Franklin and James Marshall (Brandy) Franklin; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by Rev. Terry McDuffey and Rev. Larry Lee Jones, with burial at Pythian Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Lair United Methodist Church or Hospice of Hope.
