Henry C. Willenbring was the 6th child of Joseph and Susan (Klosterman) Willenbring. In July of 1902 he married Elizabeth Backes. Henry and Elizabeth had 9 children: Leona "Billie", Hilda "Dorothy", Albin, Raymond, Rose (Sister Elizabeth), Adella (Sister Rose), Clarence, Richard and Mary, who died at birth.

In July, 1919, Henry married Loretta Ahmann. Henry and Loretta had 12 children: Bernice, Louella, Marjorie, Arlene, Lenore, Delores, Robert, Darlene, Marlene, Donald, Beverly and Kay.
