Deceased Name: PAMELA MCDANIEL.

Pamela McDaniel, 64, of Wilmette, died Monday of a heart attack at her home. Born in Shrewsbury, England, Mrs. McDaniel came to the United States in 1963 to work as a registered nurse at the former Franklin Boulevard Community Hospital in Chicago. On only her third day in town, she met the man who would become her husband, Tom McDaniel, an electrical contractor, while dancing at Zum Deutschen Eck, a German restaurant on the North Side. The couple married in 1966 and had one child. Mrs. McDanielquit nursing for a time to raise her son, later returning to work at the Presbyterian Home in Evanston. "She had a special affinity for elderly patients," said her sister-in-law, Judy McDaniel. Pamela McDaniel retired several years ago, giving her more time to devote to her English garden. "She loved flowers," said her husband. "She was someone you could be with at any time and always be yourself," said her sister-in-law. Other survivors include a son, Michael; and two brothers, William and Malcolm Walker. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Scott's Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette.
