Immediately following the war, Thelma was employed by Convair Aircraft and Tyce Engineering for a short time. As longtime residents of Chula Vista, Gerald worked for Rohr Corporation while Thelma was at home with the family.
Active in the Chula Vista Church of the Nazarene, Gideons International and, later, Hilltop Baptist Church, Thelma and Gerald contributed to their community.
Thelma is survived by 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 g-grandchildren.
