He was born on June 24, 1914, in Balltown, Iowa, son of Joseph and Anna (Gotto) Pfohl.
He married Anna Weber on Oct. 12, 1936, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cuba City. He farmed all of his life south of Apple River and Galena, Ill. In 1980 they moved to Hazel Green.
Surviving are two daughters; a son; five sisters; a brother; and 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, on Dec. 7, 1996; a brother, Leon Pfohl; and a sister, Clara Weber.
