John S. Kauffman, seventy-five, died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at his home in Mountville, of pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. He was born December 13, 1856, at Millersville, a son of the late Abram B. and Elizabeth Stauffer Kauffman and was a resident of Mountville for the past year. Previously he resided at Wheatland park near Strasburg for six years. All of his earlier life was spent in Millersville and the vicinity. He was a member of the Knights of the Golden Eagle, Millersville. His wife, who was Mary Bair, of Washington Boro, before marriage, has been deceased since 1921. These children survive: David B., city; Amos M., Wheatland park; J. Lloyd, Mountville; also five grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Jonas Henry, Washington Boro; Frank Kauffman, Millersville; Mrs. Peter Ziegler, Mrs. John DeHaven, Mrs. Ella Aument and Edward, all of this city, and Abram, Detroit.
