Gerald "Jerry" Ogren, 50, Hayward, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 at his home.

Jerry Ogren was born Nov. 18, 1950 in Hayward, the son of Warren and Vivian (Pfister) Ogren.

After high school he joined the Navy and served for four years during the Vietnam conflict. Jerry then attended college and became a registered nurse, specializing in kidney dialysis.

Jerry married Sandy Morris on August 9, 1997 in Hayward.

He was a member of the Disable American Veteran Chapter #48.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, Hayward; one step-son, Ben Briggs, White Water; two step-daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Marshall, Barnes, and Sara Briggs, Mosinee; seven step-grandchildren; one brother, Keith Ogren, Seattle, WA; two sisters, Linda Graham, Hayward, and Val Toolsie, Minneapolis, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at the Wesleyan Church in Hayward with Pastor Ben Drown officiating. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of services at the church. Military rites were accorded by the Hayward Veterans Council.

Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward.

The Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
