Donald "Don" Louis Murphy, of Yukon, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011, in Oklahoma City. Don was born to Louis "Buster" Asbury Murphy and LaVeta Nona (Kennedy) Murphy on May 26, 1944, in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1962. He attended college at Central State College (now University of Central Oklahoma) before joining the US Air Force on July 6, 1965. He served at George Air Force Base in California, then spent one year in Thailand before being honorably discharged on October 1, 1967, as Sergeant, receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.

On September 29, 1968 he started work at GE which later became Honeywell, then MPI, Control Data, Imprimis, and finally Seagate. He retired in May 2009, after 40 and one half years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Carolyn Martin and an infant sister. He is survived by his companion of 16 years Kelly Dearneal of the home, daughters Shannon and husband Vialo Weis of Yukon, Kelly and husband Robert Keely of Arcadia, and Tandy Dearneal of the home; and granddaughter Kenzie Ashlyn Keely.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Services are Thursday, February 17, at 10 a.m. at Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4747 NW 63rd Street, OKC. Interment following at Rose Hill Cemetery, OKC.
