The grave slab only has the name Henry on it. His full name was William Henry Falkner and he was the son of Col. W. C. & Elizabeth Houston Vance Falkner. Very little information is available about Henry. One family story is that he was killed by a jealous husband, jeweler, A. J. Plummer. His sister, Alabama, later known to family members as "Aunt Bama," had been told when she was young that Henry had died of appendicitis. One of John Faulkner's sons said that Aunt Bama had been told that to protect her from the story of what really happened.
