He was a Private First Class in WW2, European Theatre. He joined the army on August 4, 1943 at Ft. Oglethorpe Georgia. He was discharged in December of 1945. After the war he worked for the U. S. Post Office until 1974, at the downtown Houston, Texas station, then at the South Park sub-station and then at the new downtown Houston Post Office.

NOTE: He was a smoker until he quit in the early 1960's about when the warning came out. He lived about another 30 years after quitting.
