Albert was born February 24, 1936 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of Albert W. and Viola (Carter) Adams, Sr. He was raised and educated in Harrisburg. From 1952 to 1958 he served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and from 1958 to 1962 served with the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge.
On July 5, 1961 he married Victoria Rose "Vicky" DeCouteau in Harrisburg, PA. The couple made their home in Minot. On August 30, 1969 they had their marriage blessed at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. Albert worked as a chef in the Parker Hotel and was cook at several other cafes in Minot over the years. He later worked Civil Service at the Minot Air Force Base as a cook until 1971. From 1971 until his retirement he worked for the Bureau of Land Reclamation in Bismarck as a land surveyor.
Albert was an avid gardener and an avid reader. He loved fishing and cooking and was a great cook. He could fix anything that needed repair. He and Vicky decorated their home every Christmas, and one year earned an Honorable Mention Award for their decorations. He also loved crossword puzzles, drawing and artwork.
Survivors: Wife, Vicky; children, Rod Adams, Linda Adams, Troy Adams and Sherree Adams, all of Minot; 3 grandchildren, Mandy "Little Bit" Adams, Ritchie Adams and Elsie Adams; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles and George Adams, both of Harrisburg, PA; sister, Mary Hunter, Hershey, PA; sisters-in-law, Gerry (Jerry) Lee, Mandan, and Anita (Jim) Stogner, Bismarck; brother-in-law, Andy DeCouteau, Minot; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Viola; two infant daughters; brothers, Wilber and Larry Adams; sisters, Sadie Atwell and Edie Atkins.
Funeral: Monday, June 12, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, ND.
Vigil Prayer service: Sunday at 5:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
