Hazel went back to school in Sioux Falls and got her teaching certificate at age 60. She taught for several years near Sioux Falls while living in a trailer. Hazel eventually moved to Colorado Springs until her death in 1976.
TRUCK ACCIDENT VICTIM BURIED; Flandreau, Nov. 29, Funeral services for were held at the Methodist church here for Rueben Kneebone, 41 who died following injuries recieved in a truck accident. He had been a resident of Flandreau for many years past had been employed as a truck driver. He was injured recently while guiding a truck of the Wilson Transfer company which was being towed to Sioux Falls. The tow chain, wrapping around the wheels, caused the truck to overturn. Mr. Kneebone was taken to the hospital at Dell Rapids, the accident occurring near that place. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. H.P. Eberhart, of Flandreau. Surviving Mr. Kneebone are his widow, whose maiden name was Hazel Anderson, also five children, Marvin, 17, Althea, 16, Virgil, 14, Merle, 12 and Beverly , 8.
