WATERBURY — Mr. Nicholas G. "Nick" Angelicola, 62, of 99 Wheeler St., died Monday, May 23, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at Saint Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Carol J. (Dragotta) Angelicola.

Nick was born in Waterbury on Feb. 25, 1949, son of Joanne (Spinella) Angelicola of Plymouth and the late Michael Angelicola. He graduated from W.F. Kaynor Technical High School, class of 1968. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era having served overseas on the U.S.S. Intrepid as a CVS II Ship Diver. He worked in the trucking industry for many years until his retirement in 2009.

He was a member and former board of director of the American Italian Civic Club, past grand knight and member of the Knights of Columbus Pius X Council Oakville-Watertown, and a member of the Meadow Social Club. He was also a member of the Past Crew Member Association of the U.S.S. Intrepid. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, reading, making home made wine, working on and restoring cars, and gardening.

Besides his wife of 36 years, and his mother, he leaves a son, Nicholas Angelicola Jr. of Malden, Mass.; two brothers, Michael Angelicola of Plymouth, and Philip Angelicola and his wife, Marilyn, of Waterbury; a sister, Barbara Angelicola-Manzolli of Harwinton; and seven nephews, Carl Angelicola of Waterbury, Joseph Angelicola of Long Island, N.Y., Mark Wilson of New York, Alexander Wilson and Nathan Wilson, both of Harwinton, Dante Dunn of Waterbury, and Joseph Dragotta of New York.

Arrangements: Funeral 10:15 a.m. Friday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, to St. Michael's Church for a Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Calling hours are Thursday evening from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Smilow Cancer Center, c/o Yale-New Haven Hospital, 20 York St., New Haven 06510; or a charity of the donor's choice.
