Johnnie's parents were Ida Crutchfield and John Green Hutson. She married Jesse Hedrick Davis on January 14, 1920 in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. They left immediately for Tennessee. They had four children all born in Tennessee. Their son Rob Roy Davis is buried in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Tipton County.
Johnnie was a talented seamstress who could do beautiful embroidery, crewel, crochet, tatting and hooked rugs. She made all of her children's clothes including their coats. During the depression, she did embroidery on stamped pillow cases for a local department store.
