Her parents divorced and Mary Ellen, her mother would marry Frank Albert English. To this union, there would be a son Michael Frank English 22 June 1938. Michael could not say Florence in his early childhood and would give his sister her nickname that stuck for life within the family, Woo-Woo.

Florence would meet and marry her future husband and live out her life in the Kensington district of San Diego. They married on 18 Dec 1942. They would have no children.

William Garfield Kilgore, Jr. was a great provider and they enjoyed a comfortable life, both enjoying fine food and drink. One of Auntie Woo-Woo's favorite places was the El Cortez Hotel in downtown San Diego and many of the great Mexican restaurants that San Diego has to offer.
She loved dogs and her friend Curly was with her until the end which came as she sat in her favorite chair drink in hand. Her brother Michael found her 2 days later, not a drop was spilled. Cremated her ashes were scattered off the Ocean Beach pier.
