(b. @1865), Mantilla (b. @1868), Amanda E. (b. 09/14/71 - married Levi Edward Gladfelter), and Charles F. (b. 08/02/74). In 1860, he was presumably living in Codorus Township, York County, Pennsylvania, although he is not found in that census, and is in the 1863-65 draft registration as a railroader residing in Shrewsbury Township, York County.
A Civil War veteran, he was drafted in York County November 10, 1862, mustered into federal service at York November 12 as a private with Co. K, 166th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), but discharged by surgeon's certificate December 8, 1862.
