Bob, as he was known by his friends, was born on April 4, 1929 in Kosciusko, Mississippi, to Robert H. Morrison and Corinne Morrison Davis. He graduated from Demonstration High School in Hattiesburg and attended the University of Southern Mississippi.
Pat and Bob met while they were high school students and were married for 62 years. They were devoted parents to their two children and adopted their son-in-law as their third child.
Bob was employed with Mississippi Power Company, serving in a number of departments and capacities. When he retired in 1990, following 31 years of service, he was a member of the Engineering Department in the Hattiesburg division.
Pat was employed with Fine-Brothers Madison Company for 25 years serving as a buyer for six of the stores owned by the Milton Fine and Dave Madison. Following her retirement from Fines, she opened her own business known as "Miss Pat's Boutique" until her retirement.
Bob enlisted in the Regular Navy in July 1947, served four and one-half years active duty and served a total of 42 years in the Regular Navy and Reserves until his retirement as a Chief Radioman (E7) in 1989.
Throughout their lives, both Pat and Bob displayed a caring and joyous attitude to all of those they came in contact with. Pat was quick to show her concern for others and made the extra effort to assist her family and friends during their time of need but always had to look her very best at every occasion. Bob was a consummate storyteller and never met a stranger. He always had a tale, a joke, or a way to "pick" at you and loved to be around people. Both Pat and Bob had a young-at-heart spirit and lived a full and happy life.
Pat and Bob were members of Hardy Street Baptist Church, formerly Temple Baptist Church, for over 50 years. Following their retirement, they became increasingly active in the church. Pat served as the Outreach Leader of her Sunday School Class for many years and was the Assistant Superintendent for her Sunday School Department. Bob was a highly sought after Sunday School teacher and was frequently asked to teach classes and spent enjoyable time at home preparing both the lessons and desserts. They participated actively in Joy Club activities enjoying the food, fun and fellowship.
